Federal Public Service Commission CSS Date Sheet 2020
The Central Superior Services - CSS Examination is a competitive exam conducted by Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan (FPSC) Islamabad every year for recruitment to posts in Basic Pay Scale 17 under Federal Government.
Candidates who want to apply for the test must hold bachelors' degree issued by an HEC registered university of Pakistan. For overseas students, an equivalent degree of the same qualification can be accepted however, the final decision lies with the Pakistani Commission while who have third division Bachelors' Degree can only sit for the examination if they are joint holders of a higher division Master's Degree.
The minimum age and education to appear in this examination is 21 to 30 years and both male and female persons having at least 2nd division Bechelor's degree are eligible to apply. According to the estimates of FPSC a total of 8,000 to 10,000 candidates apply for CSS exams. On an average 5,000 to 6,000 candidates actually appear and approximately 250 to 500 candidates qualify the written portion of FPSC CSS Examination. Out of these successful candidates a total of 100 to 150 (roughly 2% of the actual applicants) make it to this sacred corps of bureaucrats.
Application fee of competitive examination is Rs.2200. If a candidate wants to recheck his/her paper, the rechecking fee per paper is Rs.500. The candidates have to submit dues to the Federal Commission Service Commission.
There are only three chances for candidates to appear in the CSS exams. No candidate can appear in the CSS exams more than three times. According to the FPSC information, the exam is conducted in 21 cities of Pakistan.
